No, this isn't a talk about Abba, it's the first of two full-day seminars on synastry. This is the astrological technique that examines a relationship between two people in detail. It reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the relationship, as well as its many dynamics. In this seminar (the first of two), I'll explain what synastry is and the many ways in which you can use it. I'll discuss the special role of Mercury in synastry, how to arrange one chart around another, how to look for interaspects and what they may mean, missing modes and elements, the major aspect patterns that are sometimes formed when two charts meet, and much more. I'll be using some intriguing examples of people, places and things.

In this seminar (the second of two), I'll look at some of the charts of first meetings, which help to set the tone for the ensuing relationship, and I'll also examine composite and relationship charts. In addition to explaining how to calculate composite and relationship charts, I'll explain what they represent and what they reveal, with the help of some fascinating examples. I'll then take these one step further by looking at transits, progressions and directions to these charts. There will also be time for the class to discuss their own synastry examples. If you would like to participate, please bring the relevant charts with you, calculated to show either the interaspects or the composite chart. Ideally, these should be on acetate so they can be displayed easily.

FINDING ASTROLOGY IN THE TAROT

There are some important links between tarot and astrology, from the simple to the esoteric. Increasing our understanding of the astrological symbols and images in the cards helps us to deepen our interpretations, providing subtle layers of understanding that give us greater insight and can trigger our intuition. This interactive workshop will help us all to find astrology in the tarot and to use it in our readings.
